📋 Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Shooter’s Mobile Notary Service ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing our website, shootersmobilenotary.com, or booking our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Scope of Services

Shooter’s Mobile Notary Service provides traditional notary public services, mobile notary services, and Remote Online Notarization (RON) within the State of Michigan. We are bound by the Michigan Law on Notarial Acts (MCL 55.251 et seq.).

2. Legal Disclaimer (No Legal Advice)

  • We are not attorneys licensed to practice law in this State.
  • We cannot and will not give legal advice, draft legal documents, or accept fees for legal advice.
  • We cannot advise you on the legal effects, meaning, or validity of any document you present for notarization.
  • The client is entirely responsible for ensuring their documents are correct, complete, and legally ready for a notary seal.

3. Fee Structure and Payments

  • Notarial Act Fees: In strict compliance with Michigan law (MCL 55.285), the fee for an individual notarial act or stamp is capped at $10.00. (ADDIONTAL FEES MAY APPLY)
  • Travel and Platform Fees: Travel fees for mobile services and platform/technology fees for Remote Online Notarization (RON) are separate administrative costs. These fees are not capped by state law and must be mutually agreed upon before the appointment.
  • Payment Due: All fees are due at the immediate conclusion of the appointment. We accept cash and major credit cards via our secure booking/payment systems.

4. Travel Fee and Cancellation Policy

  • Agreement Upfront: By booking a mobile appointment, you agree to the specific travel fee quoted based on your location.
  • Non-Refundable Travel: Once our notary dispatches from the Fowlerville office, the travel fee is 100% non-refundable, regardless of whether the notarization takes place.
  • Unsuccessful Signings: If a signing cannot be completed due to client error—including but not limited to: expired/invalid identification, missing signers, incomplete documents, or lack of required witnesses—the full travel fee remains due and payable.
  • Cancellation Window: Please cancel or reschedule at least two (2) hours prior to your appointment time to avoid a cancellation penalty.

5. Remote Online Notarization (RON) Requirements

Clients choosing 100% digital remote signings must meet all state-mandated security and technology protocols:

  • Technology: You must possess a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet with a working, clear webcam, a microphone, and a stable, secure internet connection.
  • Identity Verification: You must successfully pass the automated Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) security questions and digital credential analysis (ID scanning) required by our state-approved RON platform. Failure to pass these identity checks will result in a terminated session, and platform access fees may still apply.

6. Identification Requirements

Michigan law requires every signer to present a current, valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification. Expired IDs, photocopies, or digital pictures of an ID on a phone cannot legally be accepted. If you do not possess valid ID at the time of the appointment, the notarization will be legally refused, and travel or platform fees will apply.

7. Limitation of Liability

Shooter’s Mobile Notary Service, its owner, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our services, or for the legal invalidity of any document caused by client error, omission, or fraud. Our total liability for any claim arising out of a service transaction shall not exceed the total fees paid to us for that specific transaction.

8. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal actions or proceedings must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction within Livingston County, Michigan.

9. Modifications to TermsWe reserve the right to change, modify, or update these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of our website or services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
