🔒Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 21, 2026

Shooter’s Mobile Notary Service ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates shootersmobilenotary.com. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you visit our website or book our traditional, mobile, or Remote Online Notarization (RON) services.

1. Information We Collect

To provide accurate, lawful notary public and loan signing services under Michigan law, we collect specific personal information from you, including:

  • Contact Data: Your name, billing address, physical location for mobile services, phone number, and email address.

  • Identification Data: Information derived from your government-issued photo ID (such as name, expiration date, and ID number) used strictly for identity verification.

  • Document Data: The types of documents being notarized. For Remote Online Notarization (RON), this includes electronic copies of the documents uploaded to our secure platform.

  • Audio-Visual Recordings: Under Michigan law (MCL 55.286b), all Remote Online Notarizations (RON) must be recorded. We securely capture audio-video recordings of the entire live remote signing session.

  • Payment Data: Credit card or billing details processed securely through our third-party payment processors (e.g., GoDaddy Payments or Square). We do not store financial account numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Verify your identity in compliance with the Michigan Law on Notarial Acts.

  • Schedule, execute, and bill for your notary appointments.

  • Maintain our mandatory Notary Journal, as required by state regulations.

  • Securely store audio-video recordings of RON transactions for the legally mandated period (10 years in the State of Michigan).

  • Communicate booking confirmations, text reminders, or answer customer service inquiries.

3. Data Retention and Legal Compliance

  • Notary Journals: We maintain a legal log of all notarial acts. These records are kept confidential and are securely stored for the duration required by Michigan law.

  • RON Audio-Video Recordings: Video recordings of digital signings are securely stored within our state-approved, encrypted RON platform for ten (10) years from the date of the transaction, as strictly required by Michigan state statutes. They are heavily protected against unauthorized access.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information under the following limited circumstances:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We share data with trusted tech partners who assist us in operating our website, processing payments, or hosting our secure RON video rooms (e.g., state-approved RON platforms). These providers are legally bound to keep your data confidential.

  • Legal Requirements: We will disclose your information if legally required to do so by a subpoena, court order, or official investigation by the Michigan Secretary of State or law enforcement.

5. Data Security

We employ industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. All document uploads and video sessions for Remote Online Notarizations are conducted over highly secure, encrypted pathways.

6. Text Messaging & Email Communications

By providing your phone number and email address during booking, you consent to receive transactional communications (such as appointment reminders, travel confirmations, and invoice details). You can opt out of automated text reminders at any time by replying "STOP."

7. Changes to This Privacy PolicyWe reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory shifts. Any updates will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Effective Date."
