❓Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at notary@shootersmobilenotary.comif you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • What areas do you serve for in-person signings?
We primarily serve 5 Michigan counties: Livingston, Ingham,  Shiawassee, Genesee, and Washtenaw.

  • Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! We proudly offer a 20% discount on all services for active military personnel, veterans, and public service workers.

  • What are your business hours?
Our hours vary by appointment. Because we offer Remote Online Notarization (RON), we can accommodate flexible scheduling. Please check our live booking calendar or text us at 517-518-6136 to check current availability.

Yes, Shooter's  Mobile Notary Services is insured for errors and omissions to protect our clients in case of any mistakes or errors during the notarization process.

  • Is Remote Online Notarization (RON) legal in Michigan?
Yes. RON is 100% legal, safe, and fully recognized by the State of Michigan. Documents signed via an approved, secure audio-video platform hold the same legal weight as traditional paper notarizations.

  • Can I do a remote signing if I am currently outside of Michigan?
Yes! As a Michigan-commissioned notary, we can legally notarize your documents even if you are traveling out-of-state or internationally, as long as the transaction has a connection to the United States.

  • What technology do I need for a RON appointment?
You need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection. You will also need to pass a brief, state-mandated digital identity quiz before the session begins.

Because travel fees are flexible, most mobile notaries in regions like Livingston or Ingham counties utilize standard market rates to stay competitive:

  • Flat Local Travel Rate: Many charge a flat $25 to $45 travel fee for standard local trips within a specific county or 15-mile radius.

  • Extended Distance Rate: For longer drives across county lines, mobile fees often range from $50 to $75+, depending on total mileage and traffic time.

  • Hospital & Jail Visits: Due to security checkpoints, parking delays, and waiting rooms, typical mobile fees for hospital or facility bedside signings start at $60 to $90+ depneding on total mileage and traffic time.
